    How do I fix "word not responding message" and pausing AND "repair" does nothing.


    I've been having computer issues for a while and it just came back from a "repair". Not specifically for this issue but....


    There is so MUCH lagging in Word, it's making me crazy. I am trying to learn to type no I never learned in school and it's impossible to practice because what I type takes a long time to show up on the document.


    AND I keep getting "word not responding" SO THERE IS SO MUCH WAITING!


    I followed instructions for another question about this and the "repair" button shows a check mark and then NOTHING happens. What can I do?

    Can someone please HELP me?

    I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.

    Hi Cynthia

    Try repairing your Office installation . . .

    Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

    Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

    At the top, click 'Change'

    On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the online repair, if available, it is more comprehensive

    That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .
