Windows 10: How do I get rid of this folder that says "Location is not available"?

My custom-built pc had somehow connected to OneDrive after an update and had started transferring files between my surface tablet and this pc. After turning sync off and logging out of OneDrive on this pc I have one file that is showing up in my File Explorer that I am not able to remove. This file is not present on my Surface tablet and I have tried restarting this pc to see if it just needed to update after turning sync off. How do I get rid of this file?

Quick Access - "Location is not available"

Have just done Windows 10 update from 8.1 - very smooth well done MS!

Have encountered one small problem. In Windows Explorer have discovered "Quick Access" list. Clicking on one folder gives pop-up box "Location is not available" . Displays path which does not exist plus some suggestions as to what might have happened. If
I right click on folder in list and select "Remove from Quick Access" nothing happens.

How do I get rid of this folder from the list?

 

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

 

How do I get rid of "Location not available" nag?

After a long hiatus I'm working on this again. The problem hasn't kept me from using my laptop. It's only annoying.

I have found that if I move the "missing" folder to "E" and then change the drive letter to "D" the nag goes away. But then if I either delete the folder or change the drive letter back to "E" the nag returns. Note the very small size of the "desktop" file at the bottom of the tree (282 bytes).

I need my data drive to stay as E. So I'm considering:

1. making a small partition on one of the drives and naming the partition "D"
2. moving the small folder as the only occupant of the D drive

I think this'll work but I prefer to reserve D for my external optical drive and it seems like a backwards way of doing things. Any further suggestions on how to get rid of the nag?
