  1. How do I get temporarily files syncing in Sync Center / Offline Files?

Maybe I misunderstand the entire purpose of the sync center, but let me explain what I'm trying to accomplish and what's not working.

I have a share set up to a NAS server. It's mapped to Z. Everything can be accessed fine. I have a 30GB free on my SSD on my client-side computer, but I'd like to play a game stored on my Z drive which is ~55 GB. Even without Offline Files enabled, I can still play the game off the Z drive, but it's super slow to load. The solution which I'm going for is to enable Offline Files and increase the temporary file limit to 30GB so that after I load a file from Z once, it'll store it.

I've tried doing "make available offline" to the entire folder, and it successfully makes the files available offline, but it doesn't necessarily cache the files I want.

I've looked up information on Offline Files / Sync Center but it's pretty sparse. Can someone help me with this?

What command line can I use to start sync of Windows 7/10 offline files?

On Windows, I would like to start sync of offline files from the command line and after the fact be able to see in Sync Center when it either started or completed (and the result).

mobsync.exe does not offer command line help.

Is there some way from the command line to perform the same action as clicking on either:

    • the Sync button in Sync Center
    • the Sync button in Mobility Center

How do I get temporarily files syncing in Sync Center / Offline Files?

Clicking on 'Manage Offline Files' does nothing in the Sync Center

Windows 10 Pro Edition, and when I open up Sync Center and click 'Manage Offline Files' in the left-hand sidebar nothing happens. No windows pop up, nothing shows up.

I've tried enabling folders to "allow for offline access". The pictures online in tutorials show that all you need to do is right click a folder and toggle the 'allow for offline access' option, but I don't see that toggle anywhere in the context menu, nor do I see the words 'allow for offline access' or anything of the sort.

I'm not sure what's going on here. I have another Windows 10 machine that is able to access the Sync Center and manage offline files. That machine is a regular Windows 10 installation, with the user having elevated admin privileges. I'm on a Windows 10 pro installation, with also the same elevated admin privileges.
