Windows 10: How do I get the DVD drive to show me its files instead of opening a program?

Ever since Windows 10 updated to v. 2004, I can no longer go to This PC, double-click on the DVD drive, and have Explorer show me its contents. Instead, it attempts to open something called Isobuster.


I did download Isobuster a while ago but never set it as a default for anything, and here I see Windows 10 has decided that it knows better than me and set it to open on a double-click.


When I right-click on the drive, I notice that ‘Investigate with Isobuster’ is highlighted, instead of ‘Open’, which was what it showed going back to XP.


How do I get things back to normal?


There is nothing in the Autoplay settings they only deal with what Windows should do when certain types of DVDs are inserted and there is nothing, as far as I can tell when scrolling, in the default programs’ menus in the plural. Obviously the setting is hidden somewhere that normal people cannot find. Can an expert locate it for me, please?

Thanks for your suggestions, I have tried all the fixes and it still isn't showing, It is listed in device manager as working properly.

It may be that your DVD drive has a hardware failure (as was suggested in that thread).

i have followed steps but still not working.

the DVDs/cd drive is shown in file manager and it shows it to be working correctly but when a cd/ dvd disc is inserted it is still not recognised.

If if I double click on the drive in file manager the disc is ejected and I am asked to insert a disc.

Any further suggestions?
