Windows 10: How do I prevent the font cache from rebuilding at every reboot?

I've noticed that, since I have a lot of fonts, certain programs (such as iTunes, BabelPad, JDownloader 2, and wxMaxima) hang (or won't start) until the font cache is rebuilt, if they're started immediately after reboot/logon. How do I set it so the cache only rebuilds if the C:\Windows\Fonts folder is changed (fonts added/removed)? It's really annoying to have to wait 1-2 minutes for a rebuild when I'm trying to open a program, especially if it's really important.*Mad It even happens with my Web browser (Pale Moon) if I go to certain sites, such as GitHub.

Font Problem after update. Some Fonts are not working.


Fonts are not shown in the native font viewer. It is as if they were not installed. Rebuilding the Font Cache fixes it until next reboot.

Long time ago i used NexusFonts and works OK in my Windows 10 Pro. Recently i make fresh install and... i've problems with fonts! On http://www.xiles.net/ i found information * If you having problem on Windows 10 Anniversary Update,
disable Windows Font Cache Service.

I can not use new fonts on work. I must:

• disable cache service
• delete font cache
• reboot computer
• and maybe... works

i've problem - when I stopped Font Cache Service and Disable it and save settings after restart sometimes is Disable or sometimes is Enable!!! But I want always
disable Font cache service!

To stop Font Cache rebuilding in VLC (subtitles)


Hi there
not particularly W10 specific but I know loads of people use VLC.

If you are getting message please wait while font cache is re-built when you have / want subtitles then this method will disable this message and will speed up the process.
