    sometimes usually when I haven't shut down my pc in a while when I close the lid it just autoshuts down

    When close lid during shutting down, PC go into sleep.


    Hello,
    I've got a problem (or a feature ? Not so sure) that when I finish my work, I shutting down my laptop, while waiting it to be shut down, I close the lid.
    The problem is when I close the lid, the laptop go into sleep mode, and when I back to work, I open the lid to press the power button and it resume the 'shut down' process.
    This hasn't happen before, any suggestion ? Many thanks how do I prevent windows from auto shutting down when I close the lid/ can I be alerted to... :)

    OS: Windows 10 Pro (build 14393.693) 64bits

    Windows 10 lock on lid close

    Hi Radoslav,

    Like the information you were able to find, closing the lid of your laptop will shut it down, put it to sleep, or let it hibernate. Locking the PC by closing the lid is currently not a function available in Windows.

    We suggest you share your feedback or suggestions on this
    page     for Microsoft to look into this option for future developments in Windows.
