Windows 10: How do I remove a non existing Microsoft Email Account From Windows 10 Email & app...

I am not able able to remove a non existing email account Windows 10 Email & app accounts Settings? There is only a Manage action button next to this account, there is no remove button. If I click on Manage it ask for the account credentials but since it is an inactive account I can't log into it. I want to stop the warning messages about for this account that I get every time I boot the system.

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

You might check using step 3 in Option Two of the tutorial below to see if your son's email is listed under your "Email & app accounts". If so, deleting it will remove it.

Non-Existent email address entered on registering Windows 10

I set up the local account as you suggested. Then followed the article to switch back to a Microsoft Account.

After Start>Settings>Accounts>Email & app accounts the screen showed there was an account with the non-existent email address. It's the first time I have seen any reference to it in settings. So I removed that account. Hopefully that will be the end of the
problem. I'll let you know in a day or if the pop-up message problem is now finished. -Mike
