Windows 10: How do I resolve error 0x8007000E when turning backup on?

From the backup page in settings I can see that "Back up using File History" is off. When I try to turn it on error code 0x8007000E is reported. I thinks for a couple of seconds before failing.

I cannot see anything obviously useful in Event Viewer but I don't know, specifically, what I'm looking for either.


Any suggestions?

This seems to be a generic code. I'm not sure if I'll get help from Microsoft, but it's worth trying this forum!

My backup disk is 2 tb and it is half full. I tried another backup drive, but it does not even let me select the unit. All I get is this generic error code.

I'm not sure if I'll get help from Microsoft, but it's worth trying this forum!

 

Backup fails with error 0x8007000E

When I run backup (from Windows 7) it fails with error 0x8007000e. There is over 1TB of space on the detination drive and the souce drive is only 121gb
