    How do I rid myself of Tiles on my desktop - arrived after last MSupdate!


    Hi I have tried the Settings> System>Tablet Mode> route and it hasn't done a thing. Did it three times in all, thinking I had missed turning something off/on.


    What else can put these tiles back where I want them - hidden.

    Maxwell and Pascal "secretly" use tile based rasterization

    I suspect this is still not full tile based rendering the way ARM Mali does, keeping lists of geometry primitives per tile in each hierarchy level. This seems only tiling of a rasterization step.
    In pipeline after geometry is done, gpu seems to run full pixel shader with full gpu on each first level tile serially from left to right, top to bottom. Second level could be as well done in immediate rasterization mode but coverage pattern using tiny tiles helps with cache hits - remember, maxwell and pascal have multiple levels of cache in their gpu. Tiles must be appropriately sized by driver to ensure best usage of gpu cache.

    Getting rid of desktop with live tiles on New Windows 10 update?

    Does anyone know how to get rid of these stupid live tiles blocking my desktop view on the Windows 10 update? I had my desktop and task bar organized exactly how I wanted it, and now the new tiles have screwed it all up. I want to go back to the classic
    desktop view where I can see my folders, links, and backgrounds and have my apps in the task bar out of the way. I thought they had gotten rid of this whole "live tile desktop" thing when the started windows 10. I apologize for the frustration in this post.

    how to stop moving tiles

    Hi Larry,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps in order to stop moving Windows live tiles.

    • Right click on the live tile.
    • Click on more option.
    • select turn off live tile option.
