Windows 10: How do I safely remove Windows 10 Pro 21H2 completely ?

Somehow I managed to download & install Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home 21H2. Are they both on the same download? I need to at least get rid of the digital license for Win10 Pro so I am able to perform a clean install of Win10 Home. I've tried formatting & low level formatting the replacement hard drive followed by a "clean" install of Windows 10 Home. I still can not get it authorized Windows 10 Pro license is still installed. Anybody else have any better ideas?

Safely Remove Hardware - Windows 10

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type "Windows Feedback" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Then provide your suggestion.

We can also removely safely the external pen drives or external hard drive through below steps.

1. Open File Explorer.

2. It will show the list of Drives available on the computer, then right click on the external drive which you want to remove safely.

3. The click on Eject option from the list.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

"Safely removing devices" not working in Windows 10

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Are you referring to Safely remove device icon or notification?

If you are referring about icon. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Right click on the empty space on the Taskbar and select Properties.
• Under Notification area click on Customize.
• Under Notifications and actions Click Select which icons to appear on taskbar.
• Turn on Windows Explorer option. By turning this on you will get an icon on the taskbar.
