Windows 10: How do I schedule Edge updates?

After the 21H1 update, one of the first processes to run on my computer is the Edge update. If I deny it internet access, it keeps at it about hourly. Now, nothing about it can be found in start-up, services, and scheduled tasks. How is this update triggered and where should I look to reschedule it to a more convenient time (I like my updates at a fixed time as opposed to at user login, I don't want any updates to distract me when I turn on the computer)? P.S. I don't use Edge at all, I would remove it completely, but I read that's not a good idea, so I just ignore its existence. The pesky update however is trying my patience.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Edge Update Task Scheduler

I know that Google Chrome does this, but this is the one feature about Chromium browsers that I hate. There are two tasks created that are meant to update Edge--which is good--but I don't like the fact that they run at a certain time for the duration of one day; however, I don't know what I would need to change in the schedules to make it so that Edge will update normally but not run in the background constantly. Any suggestions?

We suggest you to schedule a restart instead, after downloading Windows update. To do that, follow the steps below:

• Windows icon.
• Type Settings.
• Click Update and Security.
• Click Advanced options.
• On Choose how update are installed, click the drop down button. See the screenshot below:
