Windows 10: How do I stop my PC from draining too much data?

My PC keeps draining data and I've tried almost everything to stop it. I've turned on a metered connection, I've disabled the background apps, deleted unnecessary apps, and I still do not know why it keeps draining data. I tried to browse with Opera Mini but before I could even try to search I had already lost more than 50MB and this was In a minute or two. I'm really desperate for a solution.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

Windows 10 PC draining data at an insane rate.

My PC is draining data at an insane rate, It sucks up 1gb of data in 30 mins while all the tabs are closed and no work is going on.

Earlier i found it was due to backgroundtaskhost.exe and backgroundtransferhost.exe, so I stopped them and also disabled background data and windows update. I tried removing the above said .exe files but It didn't happened as the windows is claiming them
as the system files.

As per netstat network x application the above two .exe files are the reason for heavy drainage of data, but even after i stopped them the problem is not solved. So I afraid that these .exe files are not the only reason for these issue.



Note : I tried every method mentioned on the net to remove this .exe files but no method worked.

I use a metered connection and this issue is costing me a lot.

Please help.

Note : I am done resetting my PC and scanning it for malware's or viruses.
