Windows 10: How do I stop unrequired Synaptics touchpad driver reloading?

Hello, my Lenovo 330S Win10 laptop occasionally misinterprets a right click for a left click so I decided to reload the driver. In Device Manager the Touchpad is listed under HID - compliant touchpad (no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device) before reading this I downloaded a Synaptics driver which failed to load but continues to try to load with each boot. The Synaptics driver app does not show in Programs/Apps., nor in task manager, task scheduler nor start up.

There are 3 "syn." (Synaptics) references in the the driver store file repository whose date matches my attempted installation, these cannot be deleted without authorisation (from System?)

There is reference in the registry to the Synaptics Touchpad:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\DriverDatabase\DriverPackages\synpd.inf_amd64_c6b64d8925f17b33, the status flag dword is 112 (274) if that means anything.

The touchpad is working fine (apart form the occasional left/right click hiccough), I just need to stop the Synaptics app loading a driver I don't need.

I haven't (yet) tried a system restore. Any suggestions would be appreciated (other than don't load something you don't need in future!). Thanks.

This issue may occur due to the outdated Synaptic Touchpad
drivers. Try the below steps and check if it helps.

I would suggest you to download and install the latest Synaptic Touchpad drivers from the device manufacturer’s website and uninstall the Synaptic touchpad drivers and re-install the same again.

Note: Make sure you download and save the Touch Pad driver and installed it before uninstalling the same.

To uninstall Synaptic touchpad drivers, follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Locate Mice and other pointing devices and expand the same.
  
• 
  Right-click the Synaptic driver and select
  Uninstall. (Note: keep the latest installed Synaptic driver)
  
• 
  Restart the computer, if prompted.

There is no Synaptic driver under Mice and other pointing devices to uninstall. What now?
