Windows 10: How do I successfully clean or format my SK Hynix SSD Hard drive that is completely BIOS locked

I purchased a laptop from a friend of a friend. Come to find out, this laptop was kept after working for a company. So a few weeks after owning the laptop, I turn it on and cannot access Windows. The laptop bios is completely admin locked. Everything in the bios is grayed out, I cannot click on anything nor can I change anything. When I boot up the laptop only one screen appears, asking me to enter my employee identification for the company it was designed for. A friend of mine recommended buying a m.2 SSD enclosure device. I did so. This device allows me to take out the thumb size SSD drive,

Samsung 970 Evo vs SK Hynix P31 M.2 SSD?

I will be ordering a new 1tb nvme ssd tomorrow. I had decided i will be buying the samsung 970 evo when looking at reviews until some people on another forum suggested the sk hynix p31 becauee not only is it as good as the samsung evo... and it uses a lot less power in power consumption.

Now i had no idea about this but apparently samsung ssd's uses lot of power consumption and they said because of that, you would actually have more battery with the sk hynix as oppose to samsung ssd. But is it that much? Someone said you probably have an additional 10 minutes with it... someone said maybe 30 minutes at the most. But they also said the samsung ssds get very hot etc.

Now i asked if the price was the same, which would you buy, some ppl said they would take the sk hynix, which shocked me. Now which ssd should i choose here? Again i will be getting 1tb nvme one. I was going to go with samsung because of the great reviews but not only that, i read the samsung magician cloning software is the best. I will be cloning my 250gb 2.5 inch samsung sata ssd into the new nvme. So should i just buy the samsung 970 evo? People say you overpaying for samsung name and also it gets really hot. The sk hynix almost everyone suggest

Also someone mentioned there isn't encryption in the sk hynix? I use bitlocker and have windows 10 pro and need bitlocker because i want a pin/password when you turn on the laptop. But sk hynix would still work for this or not? Someone said sk hynix doesnt have 256 aes encryption... but is that related to bitlocker or not?

I thought samsung evo is best choice because of the name, and how i read the cloning process is really easy. Now if i get sk hynix, what program would i use to clone? Their program or something else? Would like feedback from ppl who used either of these nvme ssd. Thanks.

SK hynix to Acquire Intel NAND Memory Business

SK hynix will pay US $9 billion for the Intel NAND memory and storage business, which includes the NAND SSD business, the NAND component and wafer business, and the Dalian NAND memory manufacturing facility in China.

Intel will retain its Intel® Optane™ business and intends to invest transaction proceeds in long-term growth priorities.

SEOUL, Republic of Korea, and SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 20, 2020 — SK hynix and Intel today announced that they have signed an agreement on Oct. 20, Korea Standard Time, under which SK hynix would acquire Intel’s NAND memory and storage business for US $9 billion.

The transaction includes the NAND SSD business, the NAND component and wafer business, and the Dalian NAND memory manufacturing facility in China. Intel will retain its distinct Intel® Optane™ business.

SK hynix and Intel will endeavor to obtain required governmental approvals, expected in late 2021. Following receipt of these approvals, SK hynix will acquire from Intel the NAND SSD business (including NAND SSD-associated IP and employees), as well as the Dalian facility, with the first payment of US $7 billion. SK hynix will acquire from Intel the remaining assets, including IP related to the manufacture and design of NAND flash wafers, R&D employees and the Dalian fab workforce, upon a final closing expected to occur in March 2025 with the remaining payment of US $2 billion. Per the agreement, Intel will continue to manufacture NAND wafers at the Dalian Memory Manufacturing Facility and retain all IP related to the manufacture and design of NAND flash wafers until the final closing.

With this acquisition, SK hynix aims to enhance the competitiveness of its storage solutions, including enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND flash space, and further aims to leap forward as one of the leading global semiconductor companies in the industry. SK hynix expects that the transaction would enable SK hynix to grow the memory ecosystem to the benefit of customers, partners, employees and shareholders.

As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses industry-leading NAND SSD technology and quadruple level cell (QLC) NAND flash products. For the six months ended June 27, 2020, NAND businesses represented approximately US $2.8 billion of the revenue for Intel’s Non-volatile Memory Solutions Group (NSG) and contributed approximately US $600 million to NSG operating income.

SK hynix developed the world’s first Charge Trap Flash (CTF)-based, 96-layer 4D NAND flash in 2018 and 128-layer 4D NAND flash in 2019. SK hynix will combine Intel’s solutions technology and manufacturing capability in order to establish a higher value-added 3D NAND solutions portfolio including enterprise SSDs.

Intel intends to invest transaction proceeds to deliver leadership products and advance its long-term growth priorities, including artificial intelligence, 5G networking and the intelligent, autonomous edge.

Intel and SK hynix will work together to ensure a seamless transition for customers, suppliers and employees. The two companies will work collaboratively, as they did recently with DDR5, to better serve the growing demand from the memory-based semiconductor ecosystem.

Intel Sells NAND and SSD Business and Dalian Facility to SK hynix

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 29, 2021 – Intel Corporation today announced it has completed the first closing of the sale of its NAND and SSD business, selling its SSD business (including the transfer of certain NAND SSD-associated intellectual properties (IP) and employees) and the Dalian NAND memory manufacturing facility in China to Seoul-based SK hynix. In exchange, SK hynix will pay Intel US$7 billion in consideration. The deal was announced Oct. 19, 2020. Intel will continue to manufacture NAND wafers at SK hynix’s Dalian memory manufacturing facility and retain certain IP related to the manufacture and design of NAND flash wafers until the final closing of the transaction. The final closing is expected to occur in or after March 2025, when SK hynix will acquire from Intel the remaining NAND business assets, including certain IP related to the manufacture and design of NAND flash wafers, R&D employees and the Dalian fab workforce, for US$2 billion. The SSD business will transition to a newly formed company, Solidigm, a subsidiary of SK hynix. Solidigm, whose name reflects a new paradigm in solid-state storage, will name Robert (Rob) B. Crooke as CEO. Crooke was previously senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. Solidigm will have its headquarters in San Jose, California.
