    Dell Inspiration 15 3000 - open the CD/DVD drawer?

    I have a new Dell Inspiration 15 3000 and am trying to open the CD/DVD drawer but there is no button to use to open. HELP!

    That model is the Dell Inspiron 15 3567 and again there are some of those model do have a DVD drive and others do not, the Dell website is very unclear on the options they provide . .

    Start your laptop, then on the Dell Logo screen, repeatedly press F2 to boot into BIOS

    Under System Information, do you see a DVD drive listed?

    If there is no DVD drive listed in BIOS, that model has a dummy drawer instead of a DVD drive . . .

    dvd drawer won't open on button

    Is this a laptop or desktop???

    Most times when the drawer fails to open it is due to the mechanical internal gear driver having failed / the belt drive slipping or slide bar having worn beyond its limits.

    In general not worth fixing as the cost out weighs buying a new unit.

    Most of the CD / DVD players have a small pin hole on the front which is for opening the drive door and release the slide.

    This required a paper clip to be straightened and carefully inserted and you will generally feel a click and see the drawer open slightly.

    Then you can carefully pull it fully open with your fingers.
