What version of Win 10 are you on? The RTM version no longer has this option, at least not by normal means.

Notice no Control Panel in this menu and no Start Menu tab in taskbar properties.

  2. Go to search, type c o n, it should show up in the list. Then right click and select Pin to Start Menu. I have it pinned to mine along with Settings.

How do you pin the control panel to the start menu?

I would like to pin the Control panel to the LEFT side of the start menu.
I don't use any tiles and have my Start menu like Windows 7.
I have seen so many instructions for this but, all the things that are
suggested I don't HAVE on my install.
Any help would be appreciated. *Smile

It is a work around. You need to change the target and the name of an appropriate folder at
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu Places
    to: C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:::{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

Maybe I am not too with it but, I did exactly what you said and no go?
In that folder is no shortcut link to Control Panel and so, I made a shortcut
to Control.exe in System 32 folder, is that wrong?
I then copied the Control Panel shortcut from my user folder and added it
to the Start Menu Places folder but cannot add the fix you suggested.
Would you PLEASE explain a little more, like you are talking to a 5 yr old? *Smile

Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu Places, choose one of the existing folders to modify, (eg.: I made the 'Pictures' folder my Desktop Wallpapers folder),
right click on the folder, choose properties, in the 'Shortcut' tab change the 'Target' path to the folder you desire.
Rename the folder if you wish. Keep in mind: the folder name will not change on the Settings page but the name will change on your Start Menu.
