    As you can see from the screenshot, almost all of my tasks in the 'Details' section of Task Manager are running as 'Elevated' which means 'Running as Admin' as far as I know. More outside of this screenshot running Admin by themselves too. Normally this doesn't really effect me, except that I have a few programs I definitely do not want running as Admin. When they do, issues arise.

    I guess that prompts the question, how do I stop apps from running Admin automatically? Is there a registry edit? Some other setting? Is there a way to configure certain apps to not run as Admin/elevated automatically?

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

    A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    There are certain apps in Windows that aren't possible to be stopped as they're needed by your system. If you want to stop certain apps to be stopped from running in the back ground, follow the steps below.

    • Press Windows key, and type in "task manager".
    • Choose Task Manager > More details.
    • Right-click on the apps that you want to stop from running, and click on
      End task      .
