    How does backup in Windows 10 work?


    Hi,

    It is my first time ever taking backup with an external HDD. I bought One Touch HDD from Seagate and it uses software called Toolkit. It's just not doing the job and I'm tired of trying. I'm also suspecting that it is making Windows freeze and stop working. It started happening after Toolkit crashed yesterday. I am afraid of PC starting a fire so I don't want to leave it turned on while I'm asleep.


    Will it be possible to take a pause from backup and put the PC in the sleep mode if I use backup in Windows 10? I'm thinking backup with file history. Should I take an image too?


    I have tried but not found answers to my questions.

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
