Windows 10: How does one deal with -- the Win10 Ver 1803 update -- KB4023057 problem?

I have a brand new HP ENVY 17t laptop (64-bit) (purchased Nov-2018, rec'd. Dec. 2018).

A few days ago, the first unsuccessful Windows updates appeared on my Update History.

I did the [Retry] a few more times, over a few days, to no avail.


I contacted HP Support -- knowing this is a Microsoft problem.

HP Support tried over 90 minutes with remote control to my laptop, and gave up.


It seems clear this specific update has problems. What isn't clear is what the customer should do in the meantime.

It would have been better to be told to wait until there's a true, tested and verified fix, rather than [Retry] with no end in sight.


I am posting this to see if anyone has experienced this, especially on a HP ENVY 17t laptop, and what is the best way to deal with this. I suppose I can still go on working without this update (?) while I wait a correct fix.

Any tips, suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

problems downloading & applying updates KB4023057 & KB4467702

I get these recurrent errors in Windows Update --

• 2018-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4467702) - Error 0x80070015
• 2018-12 Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057) - Error 0x80070015

I stumbled on this resource (WAY too unintuitive to find that, Microsoft! It should be linked visibly in
Windows Update) --

...where I was able to successfully download other updates which also produced recurrent errors EXCEPT NOT
KB4023057 and KB4467702 --

• KB4467702 I could download and run the installer and it repeatedly tells me my system doesn't need that item, even after restarting the system. Then WHY does
  Windows Update think I need it?
• KB4023057 - is absent in Microsoft Update Catalog
  

 

Latest win10 Update 1803 cant install?

I am having a issue with this update,. I fallow the steps via windows update, DL the update, shows install. ask me to reboot pc. after reboot its start the update install pc reboot several times. On the last time, I get a message saying" Restoring windows to previous version". Then it takes me back to windows, and i get a message update could not be installed.
In windows update-control panel it shows update waiting for reboot. i click on it and does same thing. after install it restore to previous version. what is going on?
I have disable windows firewall for time being.
