Windows 10: How does windows 10 determine what a users active hours are?

Hi,I would like to know how windows 10 determines 'intelligently' what a users active hours are.By what means does it do this?How does it calculate or track this?What service is responsible for this?HOW does it do it? Technically speaking.Please explain it to me properly, technically, in detail.DON'T explain it to me in laymans terms please.I want to know exactly how it works.

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.
