  1. How much will ram and a ssd affect minecraft performance?

Here are my specs currently for my laptop.

Intel celeron 1017u 1.6ghzi know, really low performance cpu, but i have fixed most performance issues with the cpu by turning off background apps and messing with some system settings until i got the performance that i liked

12gb ram 1 8gb stick, 1 4gb stick, both evenly matched in speed and year

    And a kingston a400 sata 3 ssd.

    My old specs:

    4gb ram:

    Same cpu as above.

    Seagate 480gb 5.4k rpm hdd.

So if i were to benchmark tbe two setups in minecraft would i notice a fps difference, also the seagate hdd was banged a little a while back, the laptop was given to me by a friend.

I heard that with any hdddamaged, or undamagedtho damaged will have worse performance tend to "stutter" and cause fps drops.

And i heard that with an ssd it would increase loading times and generation times in minecraft, would it at least have like a 5%fps difference minimum?

    :)

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

There is a complete step by step available, if you have any issues ...

Tutorials/Setting up a server – Official Minecraft Wiki

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server

  3. Wouldn't a SSD improve minecraft performance just a little bit?

    Hello SandyPlayz86,

I am Jaspreet Singh, an independent advisor.

While an ssd will provide a minute boost to performance it won’t be that big of an effect since Minecraft doesn’t rely that much on storage. Most of the lag in Minecraft is caused during terrain generating not during loading it from storage.

The most probable cause of low FPS will be your cpu or gpu and running a third party recorder only makes it worse since it too is utilizing the resources.

Here is an excellent discussion regarding the same :
