Windows 10: How safe is it to install it on a spare drive in my PC?

Discus and support How safe is it to install it on a spare drive in my PC? in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; I think it's because they have started to "pre-load" the Win 10 OS to have a GUI boot menu.     Same here, but I got used to being able to use the mouse and what seems like more options, like recovery and repair options, all in the boot menu. I don't mind going back to the old boot menu, because booting either OS without restarting is much more important.

    If what you said is true, then you can probably dual boot Window 8 and 10 with the new boot menu, and not have to restart when you select 8. So it's just something that can't be changed when using an older OS.

    Someone dual booting with 8 and 10 would need to say how that combo works.
    I'm using 10 in a VM running under 7 right now.
