    How to activate an installed Windows with a bad activation key


    I purchased a refurbished laptop last fall and now it is telling me that the Windows key is about to expire. I believe it is an organization key that was used while it was refurbished. I've already downloaded the Windows 11 pro upgrade for this laptop, but I'm concerned that was a mistake.Can I just purchase a good key and activate what is on here or do I have to purchase the complete operating system? Of course I'd really prefer to just transfer to a new, legal key and activate the installed OP.And in either case, where is the best l place to purchase.Thanks for any help,Linda
