Windows 10: How to automatically logon Windows 10 in S mode?

I have recently purchased a computer with Windows 10 Home in S mode. On my old computer, I have it set to automatically logon at boot up. I want to duplicate that, but all of the information I have found on autologon doesn't work.


When I run Netplwiz, the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" checkbox is not there.

I cannot run regedt32.exe to make registry changes, because it is not an approved app from the Microsoft Store. Neither is the Sysinternals autologon app.


So my question is, how do you autologon in Windows 10 in S mode? Can you edit the registry without regedt32.exe? Is there a hidden autologon option? Is there an app in the store that can do this?

Mapped network drives do not connect at logon in vista with automatic logon enabled

I have vista x64 . I have some mapped network drives . They get connected when i enter the password at logon screen. Now i enabled automatic logon in vista and they do not connect anymore . I have to double click on them and enter the password manually .

Windows displays the message "Could not connect to all drives" at logon .

They used to connect automatically in xo with automatic logon enabled.

My logon password is the same as the administrator password with which i can connect to these drives .

Microsoft to push automatic Windows 10 upgrades in 2016

"Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will be automatically rolled out next year to all users of its older operating systems who have selected to receive updates.

Until now, users of Windows 7 and 8 have needed to register to upgrade to Windows 10. But that's about to change: soon the OS will be listed as an 'Optional Update' and -- from 2016 -- a 'recommended' update that will automatically install itself, if users have opted to receive updates in that way.*Shadedshun :shadedshu:

You can opt out of automatic updates to avoid this, but Microsoftsays that "we strongly discourage this in today’s connected world because of the constant risk of internet threats". You can also change your Windows Update settings to install critical updates but not recommended ones. Although it's still going to be possible to avoid installation, Microsoft seems quite determined for everyone to be using Windows 10 in near future.


The roll-out of reserved updates was initially staggered but, according to Microsoft, now Windows "will automatically kick off the upgrade process once you have made a reservation".

As an intermediate stage, Microsoft says that it will "soon" publish Windows 10 as an optional update, not installed by default, but accessible to all users."
