Windows 10: How to avoid being updated to Version 2004?

I am currently on Windows 10 Version 1903, and quite happy with it. But now M$oft have downloaded, unasked, the update to v2004. I DON'T WANT IT. I, like many others, have been seeing reports of all sorts of glitches and evil effects with v2004. I have managed to put it on Pause until early October, but after that it seems as though I am doomed to a fate worse than death. There surely must be a way to avoid this??

Step 3:

Run the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant & then click Update now.

Step 4: It will start downloading the update and also shows the percentage of download.

windows version 2004 update

After windows version 2004 update, internet is not working - tried all the trouble shooting steps but issue was persisted. Internet started to work only after reverting to previous version 1909

 

Avoiding 2004 upgrade

The easy way is to go to Advanced Options in Windows Update. I have the feature (2004) update delayed for 365 days from the date it was release. Updates for 1909 and other stuff (Quality) are not delayed so I will get them every Month.
