How to avoid WER reports being deleted after transmission?

Usually crashing applications report such by transmitting WER reports.
The "Diagnostic Data Viewer" will show that the application hanged, period.
But checking out the event of that crash (Event Viewer) will show that a number of files have been transmitted.

    Like:

    \\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERAF7B.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml\\?\C:\ProgramData\ Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERAF9B.tmp.xml\\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERAF9A.tmp. csv\\?\C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERAFBA.tmp.txt\\?\C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\ Temp\WER1FDB.tmp.appcompat.txt

These files are, by default, deleted after closing the crashed application.
Wonder though what is actually being reported, i.e. what the contents of these files are. Any privacy stuff?

Wonder, is there a way to avoid these files from being deleted?

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Can i delete microsoft windows wer files?

    Hi,

I am using a LENOVO Laptop. Windows 10. My Local Disk (C) is very filled. I need space. When i tried to do bring down capacity for Local Disk (D) and tried to add it to Local Disk (C). But it didn't work. It is too long to tell. But shortly, i need to delete
Local Disk (D). With that way i can use that space for bring up capacity for Local Disk (C). My system folders, system32 folders etc. are in Local Disk (C). So it is my primary and more important Disk.

In my Local Disk (D), there is a folder. Microsoft/Windows/WER/ReportQueue/....... (and there is a few error reports file. In internet, people says ''you can delete error report files inside WER or ReportQueue. But i will delete COMPLETELY Local Disk (D),
so i won't delete only error report files, i will delete microsoft windows wer folders completely. Will it be a problem? With that way, there won't be an existing microsoft/windows/wer folder. (NOTE: This isn't a classic microsoft file that make able my system
works. it is just a error report folder. so it shouldn't be a problem i think. but i'm not sure How to avoid WER reports being deleted after transmission? :) ).

    What do you suggest?

  3. Windows Error Reporting High CPU load, unable to disable WER.

The following steps were used to disable the service, however it continues to run after restart.

    1. Disabled in Windows Service Manager
    2. NOTE: There are two WER services running, can only disable first, second WER DISABLE reports Access is Denied.
    3. Disabled in Group Policy Manager
    4. Disabled in Control Panel, Security and Maintenance
    5. msconfig DISABLE on startup
    6. Powershell cmdlet

    msconfig

UNCHECK the Windows Error Reporting Service to disable

    Select Apply

The Check mark reappears for the Windows Error Reporting Service, and the Status continues to show 'Running'.

PowerShell reports status as disabled, yet it continues to run in Task Manager?

    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Disable-WindowsErrorReporting

    True

    PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Get-WindowsErrorReporting

    Disabled

Is there a method to disable this service?

A note in the group policy:

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, the
Turn off Windows Error Reporting policy setting in Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Internet Communication Management/Internet Communication settings takes precedence. If Turn off Windows Error Reporting is also either disabled
or not configured, user settings in Control Panel for Windows Error Reporting are applied.

Other tools and a .db file located at

    C:\Program Files\Windows Event Reporting\Core
