Secure Boot and UEFI Firmware updates?

If laptop is so old that it came with Windows 7, a firmware update is highly unlikely. Updating bios has nothing to do with secure boot anyway.

  3. Secure Boot and UEFI Firmware updates?

The laptop I have is still with the Windows 7 logo sticker on it and now I am running Windows 10 on it.
So, as I now recall, I had to change the BIOS settings to use only UEFI and then now I have enabled Secure Boot.

So what do you suggest in case I need a firmware update?
Should I disable Secure Boot before doing the firmware updates?

How to boot Windows into UEFI or BIOS firmware

    bios help

    Hi,

UEFI boot is the boot process used by UEFI firmware. The firmware maintains a list of valid boot volumes called EFI Service Partitions while
Legacy BIOS is the boot process used by BIOS firmware. This can help improve compatibility with older operating systems that weren’t designed with UEFI in mind.

UEFI and Legacy have the same function, the only difference is that UEFI boot process is faster and frequently use nowadays.
