    How to clear Recent Docs list in Wordpad?


    How do you close a single file and/or clear a file from the Recent Docs list in Wordpad? This applies to using Wordpad from any device.

    Clearing the Recent Documents list in Word Pad.

    Press WinKey + R, type regedit.exe and hit ENTER.

    Goto:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Wordpad\Recent File List

    Clear all the recent files/entries in the right pane.

    Close regedit.exe

    (or)

    Press WinKey + R and type (better, copy & paste) this command-line, exactly:

    cmd /k reg delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Wordpad\Recent File List" /f

    Clearing the Recent Documents list in Word Pad.

    The command line : cmd /k reg delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Wordpad\Recent File List" /f

    worked for me but only after I closed wordpad, executed and restarted wordpad. Recent files were deleted.

    Is it possible to pin recent doc to Word icon on taskbar?


    It's possible with WordPad so, I don't see why it wouldn't work with Word.
