Windows 10: How to configure UK English Layout with dead keys on Windows 10

I would like to know how to configure the keyboard with UK English Layout with dead keys on Windows 10, in order to use accented characters.

Try the below steps and check if you are able to change keyboard to a UK layout. Follow the below steps.

  Type Region on the search bar and click on
  Region and language.
  
• 
  Click on Add language and click on
  English and select UK eng.
  
• 
  Click on the UK English and click on
  Option.
  
• 
  Now click on add keyboard and select the
  keyboard.

Can't remove UK English keyboard layout from Windows 10

Hello.

When I installed Windows 10 on my laptop, I accidently chose United Kingdom English as my language.

So after that, I installed US English layout, but then I couldn't remove UK English layout.

I tried many solutions, including removing registry entry "00000809" from \HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload, but it keeps coming back after restart.

Unfortunately nothing seems to work.

you can see the Remove button is disabled (for both US English and UK English, even though US English is my default language).





This is the language bar in the taskbar:




Any suggestions to fix the issue other than reinstalling Windows?
