Windows 10: How to Create a Group of Games/Apps on Windows Family Safety?

Hi, I have set a child account to limit game access on one machine. I can manage individual game access time limits. But there is no option to create a group of games. For example I can give 2 hour access to game1 and 2 hour access to game2, it means my child can play total 4 hours of game! But I want to limit total game use time to 2 hours.

I have this feature on my SAMSUNG phone and I can make group of games. But there is no such feature in Windows Family.

This new app empowers families to start conversations and promote healthier habits. It brings together cross-platform digital safety, such as screen time and content filters, with location sharing to help keep loved ones safe.

How to sign up for the limited preview

We’re starting with a limited preview of the app on iOS and Android to gather feedback before launching later this year. We’re looking for families with children of all ages to join the preview. Follow the steps below to get an invitation:

1. Set up a family group here.

Select Create a family group.

Follow the prompts to add family members and invite them to join the group.

2. Fill out the preview submission form (only one form required per family).

Acknowledge that you have created a family group.

Provide family and device information to be uploaded to preview.

Prerequisite

Please make sure to provide the email addresses of each of your family members and use the same email you used to set up their accounts. This allows us to reserve spots for you and all members of your family. You won’t be able to add or update email addresses in the form later.

Preview restrictions

Limited preview; available to 10,000 users on iOS and 10,000 users on Android.

Available globally except for China, Japan, countries and regions with right to left written languages, and U.S. embargoed countries and territories.

When selected, we’ll send each member of your family an email invite with instructions to download the preview in the coming weeks. Invitations will be sent on a rolling basis, so keep an eye on your inbox.

We ask that users participating in the preview actively provide feedback to help us learn from your experience. Send feedback in the app by shaking your device or tapping on Menu > Help & Feedback.

Windows 10 Family Safety blocks google apps

Hi Dimitri,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I regret the inconvenience caused to you. Let me help you.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it allow you to filter the app list.

Log in to https://familysafety.microsoft.com/ using your Microsoft Email
account.

Find the user that is correspond to the computer account on the Windows 10 that you are having issue with.

Click on "Game Restrictions".

Under Game Restrictions, click on "Game list".

Here, you can Allow or Block the Apps/Games that you want. If you chose to select "Use game rating" as the setting, this setting will be based on the game rating level you have selected for your child under the "Rating" section.

Request from Family Safety not working, Windows Phone

Hello ,

Thank you for your contribution on the forum Microsoft.

To change app download settings for a child

You can set whether or not a child can download apps and games from the Windows Phone Store and which game ratings you want the child to be able to view and download.

On your computer, go to
My Family on the Windows Phone website and sign in with the
Microsoft account you've set up as a parent account.

On the My Family home page, next to the child's name, click Change settings, then do any of the following:

To allow the child to purchase apps and games, under App+game downloads, select
Allow free and paid.

To allow the child to download only free apps and games, under App+game downloads, select
Allow free only. This will also prevent the child from making in-app purchases, even from within free apps.

To prevent the child from downloading any apps or games, under App+game downloads, select
Don't allow.

To set the most mature game rating you want the child to be able to browse or download, turn on the
Game rating filter. To go to the Microsoft Family Safety website and change the rating, click
Change rating.

To allow the child to browse and download unrated games, tick the checkbox next to
Allow unrated games. (Some unrated games might have content that's inappropriate for your child.)

Notes

Many games are rated according to the appropriateness of their content for various age groups, but apps are not.

When the Game rating filter is turned off, the game rating settings are hidden. Turn it on to reveal them.

This des not answer the concern or lack of function which Family Safety supposedly has.

It doe acknowledge all the steps required to download an app or game for my son to his phone. Must allow download, then set back to disallow.

Why so many steps when Family Safety made the expectation to be able to Approve request?
