Windows 10: how to disable adaptive brightness on win10 pro 1903 - Answer

Hi, this is an answer to the question posted here unfortunately that thread is "locked" and so I could not reply there.

Like everyone on that thread, there were no options within display or power settings, etc. to disable adaptive brightness.

I happen to have an old Sony Vaio laptop and today I discovered this article. By opening the Vaio Control Center I was able to disable adaptive brightness there.

If your Windows settings don't let you disable adaptive brightness check and see if your computer has its own settings area like the Vaio Control Center maybe for Dell, HP, Acer, etc. and see if you can disable it there. Hope this helps!

Hello,

I'm unable to disable the auto brightness feature of windows 10 on my laptop(Dell 7373). Firstly, I could not find any place that has any settings to enable or disable adaptive brightness but when I use my laptop on battery power this feature appears magically
and it hard to work with. Display brightness keeps changing on every user action.

• I deleted and restored the default power plans in several ways
• I changed all (all I found, though) corresponding registry entries to disable adaptive brightness
• I even stopped the windows service that monitors brightness
