    How to disable notification for VLC playing a file


    When I play a .wav file in VLC a disruptive notification comes up and plays a notification sound. Since I'm trying to go through some very short sound effects to find something suitable, the notification sound is interfering. Since I'm the one playing the files, why the heck would I need a notification to remind me?

    My computer can't run movies

    Download VLC player and see if that will play it for you. VLC plays mostly all of the available file types.

    My computer doesn't recognize any disc that I insert.

    Yes, always install VLC at defaults so it picks up any file types Windows media Player cannot play, unless you want it to be your only player. But I'd wait to see first.

    It shows in the tutorial about playing DVD's for free how to play them on VLC.
