Windows 10: How to Downgrade from Windows enterprise to Home

My windows 10 was activated with a digital license for the home edition. Windows gives us 35 days to buffer the updates. I ran out of that. I did not want to update so I went to google and took the first site on how to stop it. <https://www.windowscentral.com/how-stop-updates-installing-automatically-windows-10> . I followed the steps added NoAutoUpdate to the registry. After that My windows 10 home got upgraded to a windows 10 Enterprise edition till jan 2022 activated. Why did this happen ? This was seriously the worst nightmare for me. I will be on an unactivated windows 10 after that

Luckily, you can quickly downgrade from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro by just changing the product key to the one for Pro.

The procedure is a bit arcane, but I have managed to convert an Enterprise Evaluation to Pro, doing it in two steps: EnterpriseEval to Enterprise (unactivated); then Enterprise (unactivated) to Pro. Details here.

I know there are ways to downgrade Windows 10 Enterprise to Window 10 Professional with suggestions like this here: Is there a way to downgrade Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro?

However, I'm wondering if its just easier to enter a license key! Are there any ramifications to just entering a new license key into Windows 10 and then rebooting to activate Pro and leave Enterprise?

Also I'm aware of Enterprise being installed for a reason due to being installed by IT from a company in question however... doesn't apply here.
