  2. Teredo and UPnP on Windows 10

    Hi,

If you encounter issues wherein the Xbox app server connectivity is blocked even if your
Network address translation (NAT) type is open, this may be due to one of the following reasons:

    • The Windows Firewall is disabled.
    • A security software installed on your device has altered the Windows Firewall configuration.
    • A required service has been disabled or stopped.
We suggest enabling the Windows Firewall. Here are the steps:

    • Enter Windows Firewall in the search field on your toolbar (Cortana).
    • Select Windows Firewall from the search results.
    • On the left side of the window, select Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
    • If Turn off Windows Firewall is selected for your network type (public, private, or domain), select
Turn on Windows Firewall, and then select OK.
    • Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.
UPnP is not a requirement for Teredo to work. However, we recommend that the
UPnP settings is on. The best team to get an in-depth explanation regarding this is your
    Internet service provider.

Keep us posted with the progress. We'd be glad to provide you additional assistance.

  3. UPnP feature

    Hi all,
I got a feature called UPnP on my router device and its is default enabled.
I did some research on it and came to know users make it use for media streaming and gaming consoles like Xbox and PS3 and other stuff.I have found some tools like UPnP tester and UPnp Wizard and others and came to know that my UPnP feature on router is getting enabled but is unable to forward the ports on the router.
Can anyone elaborate me on how this normally happens and how can I check it whether its working well or not?
    Thanks to all in advance.

  4. How to enable upnp

    Wi-Fi and UPnP on N80

UpNP is the short for Universal Plug and Play. The aim of UPnP is to connect devices seamlessly and to simplify the network.

For UPnP to work, you need to install it:

    1. Go to Start => Control Panel.

    2. Add or Remove Programs.

    3. Add/Remove Windows Components.

    4. In the list, select the Networking Services check box, and then click Details.

    5. In the Subcomponents list, select the UPnP User Interface check box, and then click OK.

    6. In the Windows Components Wizard, click Next.

Windows will install the UPnP service.

Once the UPnP service is installed, install the Home media server from LINK EDITED

After the installation completed, open the home media server software and go to "settings" then "server"and make sure that the "enable media server" check box is selected.

You may need to go to "windows update" (Start => all programs => "windows update", usually at the top of the list" and install all the latest updates available.

Make sure that your phone can connect to WLAN by trying to surf a couple of web pages using the WLAN access point.

In the phone go to connect and home network.

In the settings select your WLAN as your home access point.

Restart the pc and the phone, launch the home media server on you PC.

Go to gallery and home network. Now you should have a screen saying "waiting for devices", after a few seconds your home media software should show.

From there you will be able to transfere media files or play them on your UPnP enable PC.

Remember that your router must be UPnP enable and that it is enabled within the router configuration.

EDIT:Removed link. Please do not post links directly to files or to shops. Thanks Serenity
