Windows 10: How to factory reset only my boot drive?

I have a PC where I need to factory reset but my other two drives are where I'm backing most of my important files up. Is there a way to only reset my C drive? If I were to back everything up and physically disconnect my other two drives when It's time to reset would that work? Thanks!

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

Factory Reset Win 7 (without disc)

Download an ISO of the Avira AV boot CD, burn it on your own computer, and then boot from that CD on your mom's computer and run a cleanup.

Seriously, you should just download a Windows disc and format the laptop. Best and easiest course of action.

If you are incapable, or uncomfortable with following any of the recommendations on how to restore the laptop, then I recommend you take it to your local IT guy and ask him to do it for you. Sometimes the best of us have to visit a ripoff merchant to get something fixed, or even just tested...

 

PC wont let me factory reset/format drive, but cant turn it on

Analyzing the scenario, we can completely re-install Windows by performing
Custom Installation, if none of the troubleshooting steps worked in Windows 10 Recovery. Windows can be archived through this method of installation, you can recover personal files and application data from the
Windows.old folder.
