Windows 10: How to feedback to Microsoft that the desktop background picture information is incorrect?...

The beautiful Desktop background picture in the Microsoft startup / lock screen of the beach and the mountain range in South Africa is incorrect. It states it is Coffee Bay, in the Eastern Cape Wild Coast / Transkei. Still a stunning, remote and idyllic location, it is not where the picture was take, and in fact very much the opposite of experience than that of Camps Bay / Clifton in Cape Town, where this picture was indeed taken. In the background of the picture you can see the glorious Twelve Apostles. The distance between Coffee Bay and Camps Bay is roughly 14,5 hrs drive, close to 1300kms. How can I get this information corrected? Both worth a visit in their own rights. Camps Bay is very accessible for any tourist local and international, whilst Coffee Bay is very much off the beaten track.


Any advice will be appreciated.

Changing the background in Windows 10 from picture foders created on the hard drive?

I would suggest you to try the following steps:

• 
  Open Desktop Background by right clicking on the desktop clicking Personalization
  
• 
  Click the picture or color that you want to use for your desktop background.
  
• 
  If the picture you want to use isn't in the list of desktop background pictures, click an item in the Picture location list to see other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer.
  When you find the picture that you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background.

Lost desktop background

I did a Search & Distroy spyware scan the other day, and one of the suggested "fixes" said something about removing Active Desktop. Like the muppet I am I clicked yes and am now without a desktop background picture.

Does anyone have an idea how to reverse this? If I try to select a picture it's simply not added as a background.

 

After installing the updates, desktop background pictures dissapeared.

This type of issue might occur because of some missing, corrupt or damaged files in your system.

Initially, I suggest you to try the below method and later you can try to set the desktop background and check.

Method 1: I suggest you to run System File Checker, which will check your system for missing, corrupt or damaged files and attempt to fix them.

Method 2: DISM:

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

• 
  Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
  
• 
  In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  

• 
  Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
  

Now, follow the below steps to set desktop background.

• Right click on your desktop background and click on Personalize.
• Click on Background list box and select pictures.
