Windows 10: How to find lost files

My laptop has two drives, C: is a 256 GB SSD I have of course my OS, (Win 10 Home) MS Office Professional and a couple of video editing applications. The second drive is a conventional 2 TB HDD which I accidently deleted three movies from. When I restored them I figured they would go back onto the D drive but they didn’t. They went onto the C drive somewhere but I cant find them. The problem is I don’t have much free space on C to start with. Now I have about six GB less, so how do I find the three missing files other than to open each directory, sub directory? I really need to find them as I’m low on space…

Files lost after Automatic Repair

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
