Windows 10: How to Fix a Windows 11 Cumulative Update Install Failure?

I haven't been able to install this cumulative update for a while, and it's getting pretty annoying. Earlier today, I got a BSOD SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION with no other information that I believe is related to not having installed this update. I tried uninstalling MalwareBytes and turning off .NET 3.5, but I'm still getting this error. There are several posts I looked at that are of a similar type, but I would like to provide my specific error codes to be able to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

V 10.0 build 10240

 

KB4457426 Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer - Sept. 11

Windows 10 does not have such a thing as a 'Monthly Quality Rollup', but Windows 7 and 8.1 do, it's their equivalent of the Cumulative Update. This patch must be intended for W7/8.1, Windows 10 does not need (and probably will refuse to install) this update because these fixes should have been in the Cumulative update we've just had.

Maybe try with the Windows update mini-tool, found here http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...dows-10-automatic-updates-and-spyware.218745/ , thanks to Mussels. it installed perfectly for me last night.
