Windows 10: How to Fix Error Code 0xc0000142 on the clock

Sorry was out yesterday.

so if you click start and type event viewer the app should come to top of list. Then expand the section "Windows Logs"

The event should either be in the System section or the Application section. I assume you get this when you boot so the should limit the number of events you are looking at. You can even use the Filters on right and just filter for errors.

 

Hey guys so I restored a backup from several months ago:

but I believe I still have a cancer growing that I need to kill before its to late again.

I did a sfc scannow and it did not find any corrupted files nor did a checkdisk find any issues.

So after restoring on the same day I got this:

that's normally google chrome and firefox icons which are gone? i don't want to keep removing and re-pinning....

I need to s0rt out 0xc0000142 for good... Please help me out!

I assume your event viewer would have more details for this event. Could you have a look please and post.

Have you tried a clean boot to see if this is the interaction with a 3rd party product?

 

What section do I gotta look for in the event viewer, I need search parameters.
