I recently upgraded my RTX 2080 video card to an RTX 3090 video card. After changing the video card, the USB3.0 Type A ports on the front panel of my PC case stopped working, and reliability history reports hardware errors, all with LiveKernelEvent 144.

This is my second time trying to upgrade to a RTX 3090. Last time, I was having LiveKernelEvent 141 and 144 errors, and the USB Type C connect on my PC stopped working. After removing and returning the card, and switching back to my 2080, everything seemed to go back to running fine, except the Type C port did not start to work again.


How is installing a new GPU breaking my USB ports?


I have updated the drivers for my motherboard, and will try to update the BIOS next.
