I am having this same problem. I just got a hold of an 'old' printer (2011) that doesn't have any drivers supported past Windows 7. I installed the windows 7 driver at the suggestion of the printer company's tech (it's an Oki printer) and it seemed to install
ok, the computer recognizes the printer, but it will not print to the device. Any workarounds for this?

I have just successfully used it to add a MF3240 printer in Win 10 Pro 1809 using 'Add a printer' in Control panel. Of course, I don't actually have the printer to test it, but it seems installed correctly. Maybe the package is more up to date, or maybe it worked because I used the Control Panel route to do the install...
