How to fix Quick Access and This PC so links point to the same place

I have a dislike for Windows OneDrive so I removed it from my system. However doing that has caused my Quick Access and This PC links to not work together correctly. For example, Quick Access > Downloads points to C:\Users\jack6\Downloads and This PC > Downloads points to Downloads, which is actually D:\jack6\Desktop\Libraries\Downloads. So is there a way I can correct what is being shown and what is actually where ? (There was a time when the "Explorer" on Windows actually reflected the real directory structure of the system, but obviously that is not the case any longer.)
    Thanks

  2. Quick Access bar

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We would be glad to help you with the issue you are facing today. I understand the difficulty.

    Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

    • Right click on the file or folder.
    • Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

    Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

    • Open the quick access.
    • Select the Desktop option.
    • Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

  3. Fix Windows Explorer quick access

I am unable to change the target of anything pinned directly to Quick Access without removing and pinning again.

The list is manually configurable. Drag items to the position you prefer.

You may want to consider placing your shortcuts in a pinned folder, just like what you'd do for a toolbar. You can easily modify the target location of each shortcut on the folder because they are not directly pinned to quick access.

How to fix Quick Access and This PC so links point to the same place

Documents folder in quick access pointing to wrong place.

    Hi,

In the quick access area of the file browser the documents folder is pointing to a drive that no longer exists.

The folder is pinned to the top of the file list and it wont unpin. How do I either unpin it or make it point to the correct location.

    Many Thanks
