Windows 10: How to fix sound after a Windows 10 update

2 days ago I updated my computer from windows 8.1 to windows 10. Since the update my sound has not been working. My monitor has in built speakers however the trouble-shooter keeps saying I have to plug in the speakers. I have tried almost everything I have seen online and nothing has worked. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, updating on device manager etc. Would be very grateful if someone can help.

Creative X-Fi Soundcards and Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709 = Complete Disaster / Not Working

Thank you for trying to help , i did tried your suggestion but it did not work :/ , nothing seems to make it work on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709. In the meantime i have bought a new SoundBlasterX AE-5 and it did installed flawlessly , no problems whatsoever. it is up to Creative ( drivers ) and Microsoft ( bug fix ) to fix this huge bugs with Audio.
