I'm trying to figure out how to fix this issue.

I uninstalled Express VPN and Norton with Revo Uninstaller and this is what I've been dealing with. I've done a couple of things found online but they aren't working. The weird thing about these notifications popping up is that it can take 20...30...40 minutes for them to pop up. They don't just pop up right after a reboot.

Windows cannot find ***.exe make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again

My computer was running fine untill to day. I keep getting the error messageWindows cannot find *.exe make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again

for every thing. When I try to open the task manager, regedit, system config, even when i was trying to install a new virus software. Everthing worked in safe mode. Any ideas on a possible solution

  3. Windows cannot find 'C:\File Address'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

Hi Leo. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator. If you will work with me I will be here to help until the issue is resolved.

    1) See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began following this guide:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...

If the problem repeats then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool
    explained here:

    2) See fixes for the error here:

    3) Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue
with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

  4. How to fix "Windows cannot find __.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly" issue?

windows cannot find Make sure you typed the name correctly. and then try again

    Thanks for the respond

The exact error message is actually similiar for each app. The different only on the Path. For example

    - when I tried to open task manager => Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again

    - The other app, for example, the NVIDIA GeForce experience => Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience\NVIDIA GeForce.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

This happens in every app when I tried to open it as Administrator

The idea is my laptop couldn't find the '.exe'. file but the files were there in the directory.

    Here's my PC detail

    Windows 10 Home Single Language

    Version 1607

    OS Build 14393.2007

System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I've done the startup troubleshooting as it mentions above, but it said it couldn't repair the pc.
