Windows 10: How To Get Back to Windows Pro?

My wife's old laptop has gotten unreliable, so I purchased a newer used laptop for her. The newer laptop was running Windows Pro and has an OEM Preinstalled Key for Pro.


The only quick way to get the newer laptop ready for my wife and get her back in service was to take a System Image of the old laptop and restore it onto the new laptop. That went fine - both had UEFI BIOS, similar enough configurations, and used the same storage driver. The newer one came up fine and after a few manufacturer driver updates everything is running well.


The unfortunate thing is that the old laptop was running Windows Home, so that is now the version I have on the newer laptop, even though I'd rather take advantage of Windows Pro and the PIK.


Does anyone have any good ideas on how I could get the newer laptop to upgrade to Windows Pro, without doing a clean install or buying a new Windows Pro upgrade license?


The Windows Pro Upgrade function requires a purchased license key, and I don't see any way to tell it to use the OEM key in the BIOS.


I tried doing an in-place update with the Windows 2020H1 image, but that never asks which version to use. Naturally enough it assums you'll keep the version you're already on.


So, I'm sort of stuck with Windows Home now on her computer. That's not a terrible thing, but I'd certainly appreciate any clever suggestions on how to move over to Pro without a clean install or spending extra money.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Can't upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

Download Windows 10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.
