Windows 10: How to get the Everyone permission for the file in Mobile-Hard-Disk ?

Hi, thanks for you to spend some time in focusing on this issue!


Today, I find a problem about my data-file in Mobile-Hard-Disk. About a 2G size file I can't open it because itis encrypted that is showed in Advanced properties.The terrible thing is that I can't do anything on this filelike copy, move, decrypt it except delete or modify suffix name because I was told I haven't theEveryone-permission! There is a small yellow lock symbol above the file symbol


I try to modify the Everyone permission on this file but there is noSecurity-Attribute showing in file properties window and the reason that I think maybe the storage type of the Mobile-Hard-Disk is exFAT or ?


So, in this case, how to gain back theEveryone-permission on this file? This file is important for me and if you have some idea about this issue please contact me as soon as possible!

External Hard disk contents are not visible.

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Do you hear any clicking sound when connecting your hard disk?

In the meantime, we suggest that you update all your device driver.

No permission to save on my hard disk.

To resolve this issue we need more information. Let us know the following:

• 
  What is the error message/error code which you receive while trying to save pictures to My Pictures on your HDD? Mention the complete and exact error message/code.
  
• 
  Where – which location – are you trying to save/download the pictures from?
  

Permissions are rules associated with objects on a computer or network, such as files and folders. Permissions determine whether you can access an object and what you can do with it.

No permissions

Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

• Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
  
• Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
• Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
  

This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.
