Windows 10: how to install windows 10 updates manully

yes does anyone know how to install windows 10 updates maniully i want to pick what updates i install so i dont get the anivsery update don't want microsoft i know there is a way to do this just don't kno how to do this in windows 10

ever time its showing installing feature updates 1607 in updates and but getting failed. How to download the file manully.

can i manully update to windows 10 even when i reserve it like instead on june 29 can i do it another time and still get it for free and how do u do it please and thanks im updateing for my moms laptop and she wants to wate for to be honest a while so

Hi the anniversary update was last November or so... the current one is the Creator's Upgrade.

If you have Win 10 Pro (you haven't said) you can select 'Defer Feature Updates'. That blocks build upgrades.

An easy way to control updates is this:




a. in Settings, Updates, run Check for updates, let the scan finish.
b. then use the free tweaker above, and click Notify only

It doesn't work if you don't do (a).

ok i am only wanting to get the updates that don't make any changes to windows and keeps things the way i have them now

 

The only updates that make changes to the way windows looks are the Features Updates: 1511, 1607 and now 1703 (the Creators Update). What version of windows do you have at present? What does Winver say for the version and OS build number?

 

If you use this:

you will install the Creator's Upgrade.

If you wish to do so, I suggest you first read the News item on this and the long threads about it and some of the issues all are encountering, and those some are encountering.

To get your build number:

Windows key + R, type winver <return>

If you're still running 1511, I would guess either Windows update is broken or blocked in some manner.

 

Microsoft is going to stop issuing security updates for the original release of Windows 10. You will have to upgrade to the newer versions if you want to stay secure.
