    How to keep icons in the same space after overwrite (desktop)


    Hi guys. It drive me nuts. I know it is a bad habbit, but I keep current "projects" on a desktop.
    I have slighty OCD and like to have everything put in order (grouped). Everytime I overwrite my temporary file it change it's location to first free spot in row. I don't know if You are understanding what I'm refering too, but I need help!

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

    Hi,

    I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the blank space on desktop.
    • Click on View.
    • Uncheck Align icons to grid.
