Windows 10: How to keep snipping tool instead of Snip & Sketch?

Hi! The program I primarily use at work Harmony Toon Boom v17.0.2 does not paste directly from windows+shift+S or the new Snip & Sketch tool, but snipping tool has no issue. Is it possible to avoid windows taking snipping tool away in future updates so that I can continue to use it?I've tried locating the .exe file in C:/System32 and copying it to a new drive but attempting to open it creates an empty error box with just a red X. Seems there are other files it depends on to function, so if there's a way to create a proper backup I'd love to figure that out!

Snip & Sketch

It's the Snipping Tool that's being phased out, not Snip & Sketch. FWIW, I just used the latter tool and was able to paste the snip into a Word (Office 365) document. There was a point in the past when for reasons unknown, opening Word would clear the
clipboard. If you're using an older version, you might want to try opening the document first, before taking a screenshot.

If you prefer to use Snipping Tool, all you have to do (as I suggested earlier) is open the Start Menu and type snip.

 

Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch

Since users have been asking since 2011, or so, about the inability of Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch to capture single images longer or wider than the viewable area of the screen, are there any plans to add this capability? I use Snagit at the office
to supplement the Snipping Tool whenever I need to capture a larger image and/or more options to edit and enhance on afterward. Thanks!

Thank you for updating me that information. If you mean the snip and sketch? Based on your description the snipping tool is crashing?

Please try to reset Snip and Sketch

Press Start then search Apps and Features

Select Snip and Sketch on the list

Click Terminate then Reset

If it doesn't work, Please try to create a new administrator account then check if everything is working.
