Is there any way to re-center the volume?

"1" is still uncomfortably loud and any lower instantly rounds to 0 and is completely silent. My new headset sadly utilizes the one absolute Windows volume (sadly, its the opposite of a feature as it leads me to this problem). The equalizer that the driver brings me is not much help either. [It's the KLIM Impact v2 btw. amazing apart from this problem]

Do I really need a third party Equalizer? Or is there a way to redefine Win 10's sound levels (e.g. make the current level = 20 or so, so that I can lower / raise it as I like. I'm comfortable with the Registry and would even stoop to hex editing if anyone's got a good lead for a fix. But so far I haven't found anything yet, I guess this shit "all sound level is managed by windows" is a new trend to come.

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue How to lower sound beyond 2 (but not silenced) :p
